Whether you're training for the Montane Spine Race, supporting a participant, or tackling the Pennine Way under your own steam, our accommodation offers a rare combination of comfort, practicality, and on-route convenience - shaped directly by feedback from athletes who have stayed with us.
'Staying at this accommodation was nothing short of extraordinary. I’ve used countless places while training and racing on the Spine route, but this one stands head and shoulders above the rest. The hosts were beyond incredible - genuinely kind, thoughtful, and wonderfully welcoming. You feel looked after from the moment you arrive. The location couldn’t be better: just 30 seconds from the trail and rail network, making it the perfect stop for weary runners or walkers. After a long day out, the rooms feel idyllic - cosy, spotless, and exactly what you need to relax and reset.

The nearby Indian restaurant and local pub are absolutely beautiful and added a lovely touch to the stay. I was genuinely compelled to help spread the word because places like this are rare. It’s the perfect combination of comfort, warmth, and unbeatable convenience. I honestly can’t recommend it highly enough.' - Lee
Spine / Pennine Way Recce Stays Built Around You

Just minutes from the route, our accommodation gives athletes everything they need - quiet recovery space, wet-kit storage, GPX files and section splits, early starts, late arrivals, bag storage, and optional transport or pickups for multi-day recces - ideal for Winter/Summer Spine, Challenger & Sprint races.

Practical Drying & Kit Care Amenities

After hours on the Pennine Way, getting your gear warm and dry can make all the difference. We’ve created a practical setup that meets the needs of Spine racers and multi-day hikers, with a dedicated drying/warming cupboard, the gentle heat of an AGA (during winter months), and plenty of space to leave wet or muddy equipment. It’s one of the biggest pain-points on the route - and one that very few accommodations handle well - so you can rest easy knowing your kit will be ready for the next push.

We offer Hawes pickups for Challenger South finishers or DNFs, plus comfortable recovery stays where you can decompress, dry kit, repack, and get sorted before travelling home.
